Is ICB a recognized qualification?
Yes, ICB qualifications are recognized by employers and professional bodies in the bookkeeping and accounting industry.
Can I study ICB qualifications internationally?
Yes, ICB qualifications are recognized internationally and can be studied online with SACOB from anywhere in the world.
How long does it take to complete an ICB qualification?
The length of time it takes to complete an ICB qualification depends on the level of qualification and the study mode chosen. Typically, it can take between 6-12 months to complete a qualification.
How are ICB exams assessed?
You are required to complete a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) as well as complete a formal exam which is assessed through a combination of multiple-choice questions and case studies. These exams can be done online or at a venue.
What is the overall pass mark?
60%, Your PoE counts towards 30% and your final exam counts towards 70%
Do I need any prior experience or qualifications to study for an ICB qualification?
No, you do not need any prior experience or qualifications to study an ICB qualification. However, having basic math and computer skills can be helpful.
Do shared subjects count for different qualifications?
Within the ICB’s 3 qualifications there are common modules that overlap, you only need to complete the module once which means once you have completed one qualification, you can move on easily to another ICB one and complete only the remaining modules.
